Can Colon Cleansing Help You Lose Weight?

If you’ve been wondering whether a colon cleanse can help with weight loss, I think you’ll find that the answer is yes. Colon cleansing can help you lose weight. Generally, you will lose a small amount of weight during the cleanse itself. You may lose up to 10 lbs or so depending on what kind of cleanse you do and how long you do it for. But the real weight loss results will occur after your cleansing detox is over.

The idea behind a colon cleanse is that it can help clear out toxins from your body and restore health to a sluggish digestive system. Many people who have struggled to lose weight find that once their digestive health is restored, getting rid of the excess weight happens naturally and without much more effort than just eating healthy and nutritious food.

Ideally, when you do a colon cleanse, you will also start to change your diet and eliminate all of the processed and junk foods that cause such ill colon health in the first place. During the colon cleanse, you’ll use some herbal supplements or teas, but you also need to eat the right foods. Stick to raw healthy vegetables and fruits where possible and eliminate all the junk food, fried foods and other types of processed food from your diet.

Once your colon cleanse is over, you should notice that you feel much more energetic and that your digestive system is working with ease. But you can’t just return to eating the same old junk and expect it to stay that way. Enjoy a healthy diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, fish and poultry. Add some healthy fats to your diet such as avocado, olive oil and olives.

Once you make this switch, you’ll find that you have no problem continuing to lose weight. Occasionally you should still be able to indulge in the occasional junk food. As long as you make such indulgences an occasional treat rather than an every day habit, you should be able to continue to enjoy the benefits of your colon cleanse, including weight loss.
