  1. Eggs: Eggs are a cheap source of protein. The protein quality that you get from eggs is however of the highest quality. If you want to gain muscles, you need to understand that you have to eat whole eggs. This is because the yolk is where most of the nutrients are concentrated in.
  2. Wild salmon: This is one of the best sources from where you can get your omega- 3 fatty acids. 100 gm of your salmon will give you 20 gm of protein. But remember to eat wild salmon and not farm- raised salmon as the latter contains fewer amounts of nutrients.
  3. Yogurt: It contains good bacteria which you will need to gain muscles.
  4. Olive oil: This is a great source of fats. Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil on your salads and welcome goodness into your life.
  5. Red meat: You can’t do without this if you want to gain muscle. Eat hamburgers and steaks from sirloin or top round.
  6. Spinach: It gives you the alkaline your body needs.
  7. Quinoa: It is gluten- free and is higher in protein than rice.
  8. Tomatoes: Not only does it prevent cancer, it is high in lycopene as well.
  9. Apples: This is another food that will help you if you need to build muscles. Opt for the organic variety though.
  10. Water: Make sure that you keep your body well hydrated after all that weight lifting.
