Seaweed Bath – Give Your Body Its Detoxifying Benefits at Home

A seaweed bath is a wonderful way to detoxify the skin and reduce puffiness. But if the prospect of jumping in a tub full of slimy seaweed isn’t appealing, fret not. Most people don’t leave anywhere close to the ocean, and even if we did, not many would want to cart home buckets of smelly sea vegetables, then clean up the mess the left behind in our bathtubs.

A seaweed bath is a common feature at many exclusive spas. One of the chief reasons for its extreme popularity is that the seaweed bath helps to release excess body fluids from cells. This means less bloat, which is always a very good thing! The good news is that you can get all the benefits inheirent to a seaweed bath, such as a reduction in puffiness, without the mess or hassle. Dried seaweed is available from a number of suppliers, and is a perfectly acceptable replacement for fresh seaweed in the bath.

A seaweed bath is just the thing for anyone wanting to depuff and detoxify just before a big event. This is a treatment that many ladies pay big money for at an exclusive spa. As well being extremely useful for detoxification and bloating, a seaweed bath has been used traditionally to relieve skin conditions like psoriasis and acne. It is also reported to help back and muscular pain, as well as to ease rheumatism and arthritis conditions.

If you live near the sea, you can collect your own kelp for use in a seaweed bath if you are feeling adventurous. Take it home and fill your tub with very hot water, then place the kelp in the tub and wait to get in until the seaweed turns very green, and the water turns brown. Always check that the temperature is not too hot before getting in.

In this case, brown water is a good thing, as it indicates that the minerals are being released from the seaweed into the bath. When the water has cooled enough to become comfortable, enter the bath and rub your skin with the kelp to maximize its many benefits. Your skin will become coated with a gel from the seaweed, as it helps to draw out toxins from the skin. When the gel starts to come off the skin and return to the water, you will have gained the maximum benefits from the kelp.
