One shouldn’t immediately give up when he or she is diagnosed with diabetes. There are still ways on how to regulate glucose levels in blood and one of the most effective ways is to know what are the foods to lower blood sugar in the body. The food that we take and the overall weight we carry are two factors that affect the levels of blood sugar in the body, which makes changing one’s diet a vital solution in order to regulate the foods that are taken everyday. Doctors always advise their patients to adopt a diet where there is more good food for diabetes and for those diagnosed with such because these can determine if you have a chance at living normally and diabetic-free for life.

So what exactly are the foods that a person should take in order to have a good blood glucose level? Studies have shown that in order to lower blood sugar levels in the body, one should eat foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and especially in fiber like onions and garlic. These include fruits and vegetables that are eaten raw because the vitamins and minerals are still present and can act as a blockage from excess sugar in the blood stream. Eating enough healthy fiber foods can also help the pancreas produce more insulin in the body, which is the primary solution to natural diabetes control.

Another solution is to take in a lot of healthy drinks as well. Water should be drunk at least 8 times a day and fruit juices made from carrots, coconut, and other vegetables should be taken at least 2 – 3 times a day in order to achieve healthy glucose levels in the body. Drinking herbal tea also helps in blocking out unwanted sugar in the blood stream, so this can be included in the diet as well. As much as possible avoid taking in coffee and softdrinks while you are trying to keep a healthy diet as these contain a lot of sugar and chemicals that could affect the body.

So we know what foods to take, so what are the foods that we should avoid? High levels of blood sugar are encouraged when we eat foods that are processed, have high sugar content, and have preservatives and MSG. So that we do not put our efforts to waste in eating foods to lower blood sugar, processed unhealthy foods should be avoided as well. Drinks like softdrinks, for example, is a big contributor to diabetes since there is a lot of sugar and carbon in the content. Foods that also add to your body weight should be avoided, as well as not exercising everyday to get rid of the excessive fat. By eating the right kinds of food and avoiding those that increase the body’s sugar levels, diabetes can actually be regulated, controlled, and even cured by natural means. As long as the person is able to maintain his or her proper diet, he or she will be able to live a normal healthy life in no time.
