Have you ever had creamy-white or bluish-white batches on your tongue that become inflamed and red that continues on the lining of the mouth into the throat? Has your child ever had a diaper rash that is red and somewhat scaly? As a woman you might have at some point felt burning and itching in the vagina accompanied by a white or yellow discharge. These are all Candida Albicans symptoms. Not only can Candida infect the outer layers of a person’s skin, but it can also affect the bloodstream causing malfunctioning of the kidneys, heart, lungs, eyes, and other organs. Fevers, chills and a rash are usually present.

What is Candida Albicans? Sometimes this fungus is referred to as monilia. It is usually present on the skin and in the mucous membranes of the vagina, rectum, or even mouth. As mentioned before, the fungus can travel through the bloodstream. When this is done it can infect the heart valves, intestines, and throat. When there is a change in your body’s environment the Candida albicans fungus will be given the change to grow out of control and become a problem.

To know for sure if you have Candida albicans you should consult a physician for their educated diagnosis. When you go to see your doctor you will have a complete medical history done along with a physical exam. Laboratory tests will be run. The tests that you’ll encounter include blood tests, blood cultures, and wound cultures. Keep in mind that not every physician will take all these tests, but it is a high possibility that they will at least take a blood test. Also, a tissue biopsy might be needed to see if you have an invasive systemic disease or not.

Once you know for sure that you actually have been experiencing Candida albicans symptoms you can start to cure the infection. You can find many over-the-counter treatments at your local drug store. After visiting your practitioner you might have received a prescription medication as well. You can usually treat Candida with an over-the-counter drug for anti-fungal ointment. If you have an extremely serious case of Candida you might be required to have an IV of medications given to you at the hospital. Most people find that over-the-counter drugs will clear up the infection within a few days. Always read the instructions and consult your doctor before using any type of medications. If the symptoms continue or become more intense you need to seek medical attention as soon as possible and discontinue use of that product.

You can also find many natural remedies to treat Candida albicans symptoms. Some home remedies that have been suggested include adding plain, unsweetened yogurt and garlic to your diet. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Try cutting sugar out of your diet if at all possible. And wear loose fitting clothes that are breathable. Cotton material seems to be the best at allowing air to flow over your skin. Practice good hygiene on every area of your body. You will be surprised at how many natural remedies are around to cure Candida albicans. Again, please consult your physician prior to making any extreme changes. Doing too many changes at once could be more harmful to your body than good.
