Have you ever taken a moment just to consider the importance of eyesight and the effects it can cause once it is lost? I know that the majority of us take life for granted and never consider the possibilities of what it would be like if our eyesight was compromised.
I recently did some research and learned some very interesting facts about our eyes.
* The number one cause of blindness in adults in the United States is diabetes.
* Of all the muscles in our body, the eye muscles are the most active.
* The muscles that move the eye are the strongest in the body.
* Your eyes will never wear out.
* Your eyes are always the same size from birth, but your nose and ears never stop growing.
Have you ever considered what would happen if you were to lose your eyesight! You would no longer be able to drive the car or watch a movie. Attending a play or sporting event that your child is participating in would be hard to enjoy. You could hear what was going on but you would no longer see the event itself. I don’t think a lot of people seriously consider what would happen should we no longer have our eyesight.
Dwelling on what might or might not happen is no way to live either. Being in the present moment and only thinking about what is taking place in the here and now is the way we all should learn how to live. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take better care of yourself and prevent your eyesight from failing. Just by incorporating some simple and easy eye exercises into your day can help tremendously.
Stress is the main cause for most health problems and that includes your eyesight. Learn how to lower your stress levels and you will be able to live a long, healthy and happier life.
